I really enjoyed working with Helena Dove, Kew’s Kitchen Gardener, to tell the stories of her beautiful crops.
From crop rotation and ‘no-dig’ to companion planting and edible flowers, I learned so much from this project, and hope the visitors will too.
What was striking was how well Helena and her trainee, Olivia, balanced the needs for Kew’s kitchen garden to be both functional, beautiful and educational, something they achieve with remarkable results.
Being given the opportunity to sow my own patch of green manure and sample the harvest were definite writer’s perks!
