Script editing Marianne North’s impact

I was thrilled to script-edit this beautiful Marianne North animation. Together with Margaret Mae, I discovered North’s incredible botanical artwork at a reall influential time in my life when I was splitting the year between working for Seed Madagascar and RBG Kew.

Exploring the world ion crinolines, Marianne North wrote her own rules for what botanical art should look like. By contextualising the rare and exotic plants she painted to include detailed surroundings of the landscapes they inhabit, she gave an insight into the environments each plant belongs to. I’m thrilled this detail made the final edit as I feel it’s such an important part of her legacy.
